About Us

Kay Hoggett

Kay is an accredited counsellor, coach and supervisor, and chair of a

counselling charity. Her former career as a consultant in the corporate

sector involved training and group facilitation, and since 2017 she has

been delivering training in therapy and mental health topics for charities and other groups.

Edwina Hawkridge

Edwina is an accredited counsellor, coach, trainer and supervisor. Her background in the civil service provided a unique platform for her to deliver a lot of training which she has a passion for. A qualified counsellor Edwina specialises in Eating Disorders. She has provided training for numerous national and local charities and the NHS. She started her counselling practice in 2014 adding coaching to her repertoire in early 2021.

2024 Programme

Introduction to Working with Eating Disorders

Friday 17th May, Peterborough

You will learn:

  • Signs, symptoms and risks of eating disorders and disordered eating
  • What it is like for the client
  • Tools and techniques to support clients, including experiential learning through working on your own 'food script'
  • Competence and referral
  • Factors in development of eating disorders

Eating disorders are a specialist field of therapy. Your trainers hold 'Master Practitioner' Diplomas from the National Centre for Eating Disorders and are highly experienced in working with this client group.

From Counsellor to Coach - Introduction

Saturday 8th June, Peterborough

You will learn:

  • Ways of thinking about the interface between therapy and coaching
  • How coaching could benefit your practice and your clients
  • Ethical and practical considerations of becoming a coach
  • A framework for coaching interventions that you can use straight away

Your trainers hold diplomas in coaching in addition to counselling qualifications, and have extensive experience as coach-therapists. This one day course provides an introduction to coaching for counsellors. It is also a route into the Counsellor to Coach Diploma that will launch in September 2024.


Attendees on the Introduction course will receive a 10% discount on the Diploma price.

Working with clients with poor body image

Saturday 22nd June, Market Harborough

You will learn:


  • The roots of body image issues
  • How to work with clients to develop insight into these issues
  • Tools and techniques to support clients in improving their body image
  • The importance of looking at our own body image values and issues

Counsellor to Coach Diploma

September 2024-April 2025

Course Dates

The course comprises 6 in person teaching days, plus self study and assignments.

The teaching days will be confirmed by end April 2024, and will comprise:

  • two Friday to Saturdays in autumn 2024
  • two Saturdays in spring 2025

  • Self study will comprise reading, videos and reflection.
  • Assignments will include a case study, coaching log, reflective learning diary and an essay.
  • Completion of the course is on completion of all assignments. Attendees can choose to complete by end April or to take longer to return assignments and complete by end July.
  • Attendees will be responsible for finding their own coach-in-training clients; guidance will be given. Supervision arrangements are to be confirmed.

Location

The course will be held at Archway Health and Wellbeing Centre, Market Harborough.

Fee and Payment

  • The course fee is £790.


Attendees who book and pay their deposit by 21st June will receive an 'early bird' discount of 10%, reducing the fee to £711.

Attendees on the Introduction course (Peterborough, 8th June) will receive a 10% discount (fee of £711).

Attendees qualifying for both discounts will receive 20% off, paying a fee of £632.


The payment schedule is as follows:

  • Deposit on booking: £150
  • By 23rd August: £250
  • Remainder in 3 equal monthly instalments on or before 23rd September, 23rd October and 23rd November.

Pricing and Booking

One day courses are £85 and include a six hour CPD certificate and course handbook.
