About Us

Kay Hoggett

Kay is an accredited counsellor, coach and supervisor, and chair of a

counselling charity. Her former career as a consultant in the corporate

sector involved training and group facilitation, and since 2017 she has

been delivering training in therapy and mental health topics for charities and other groups.

Edwina Hawkridge

Edwina is an accredited counsellor, coach, trainer and supervisor. Her background in the civil service provided a unique platform for her to deliver a lot of training which she has a passion for. A qualified counsellor Edwina specialises in Eating Disorders. She has provided training for numerous national and local charities and the NHS. She started her counselling practice in 2014 adding coaching to her repertoire in early 2021.

Counsellor to Coach Diploma

October 2024-April 2025

Course Details

The course is based on the requirements of the BACP and the Association for Coaching, and comprises the following elements:

 

  • 6 days (40 hours) in person training
  • 15 hours self study
  • 30 hours coaching practice
  • 4.5 hours group coaching supervision
  • 3 hours individual coaching supervision

 

The topics below will be explored through interactive teaching, small group skills practice, reflective journaling and group reflections on client work.

 

  • Scope and principles of coaching
  • Ethical professional practice
  • The coaching relationship
  • Coaching theories and models
  • Coaching skills and techniques
  • The business of coaching
  • Therapeutic coaching

End April 2025 – assignments may be submitted to complete course May 2025 (7 month option).

End July 2025 – assignments to be submitted to complete course August 2025 (10 month option).

Client Work

Trainees may start client work on completion of Day 3 (16th November). 30 hours of logged client work within the 7 month or 10 month period is required to pass the course.

 

Trainees are responsible for finding their own coaching clients. These may be people connected with the trainee, as long as no therapeutic material is covered. Trainees should not approach current or former counselling/psychotherapy clients to be coaching clients. Trainees can choose whether to charge for training hours, and what fee is appropriate.  


Supervision

Trainees will require supervision specifically for their coaching work, with a supervisor who is a trained and experienced coach. 4.5 hours of small-group supervision is provided across days 4-6 of the course, as well as three 60 minute sessions of individual supervision.

 

Additional individual supervision can be provided at 10% discount of the supervision fee, which is £70 per 60 minutes. Trainees may continue their supervision arrangement with the tutor-supervisor after the course; a 10% discount will be offered for 12 months after course completion. 


Your Tutors

Kay and Edwina are experienced and qualified coaches. Kay has been a Coach for over twenty-five years and holds a PostGraduate Diploma in coaching. Edwina completed her coaching training when she worked for a police force and has been coaching in private practice since 2017.


Location

The course will be held at Archway Health and Wellbeing Centre, Market Harborough.

Fee and Payment

  • The course fee is £790.


Attendees who book and pay their deposit by 23rd August 2024 will receive an 'early bird' discount of 10%, reducing the fee to £711.

Attendees on the Introduction course (Peterborough, 8th June) will receive a 10% discount (fee of £711).

Attendees qualifying for both discounts will receive 20% off, paying a fee of £632.


The payment schedule is as follows:

  • Deposit on booking: £150
  • By 5th October: £250
  • Remainder in 3 equal monthly instalments on or before 5th November, 5th December and 5th January.

Eating Disorders Diploma

Starting Spring/Summer 25

You will learn:

  • Signs, symptoms and risks of eating disorders
  • How and why eating disorders develop
  • What it is like for the client(s)
  • Tools and techniques to support clients
  • Ethical and practical considerations of competence and referral
  • A framework for eating disorder interventions that you can use straight away

Eating Disorders are a specialist field of therapy. Your trainers hold 'Master Practitioner Diplomas from the National Centre for Eating Disorders and are highly experienced in working with this client group.
